Dear Chuck,
I would like to nominate Bucky Dailey of Crandon, Wisconsin as the footer of the month. There is no one I know more deserving of this recognition.
 Bucky, who is a 36 year old custom home builder in Crandon, has been featured in several magazines for his work
and is the person who makes FootStock what it is. He is the first person there in the morning and the last person to leave after everything is done. He works all day at the tournament and then skies his runs.
In 2001 Bucky proved that he wasn't just an average barefooter by winning FootStock beating the likes of Chris Barnhart, Chris Van Zeeland, and myself. After winning he gave pretty much anyone around free sweatshirts, t-shirts or whatever he could find. One of the most humble guys I have ever skied with. He competes at nearly every other figure 8 tournament that he can make it to always finishing in the top 10 or so. This year at FootStock he beat Keith St. Onge head to head after skiing a whole figure 8.

He finished 16th which is more than respectable with the quality of skiers that turned out. And again he did that after running around all day making sure the tournament was running on schedule, filling boats with gas, making sure the concession area was stocked as well as the beer tent.
He is also the driving force behind the Crandon Water Shows ski team. He has been a member for 25 years and president several times. From June till FootStock rolls around he gets up at 5:30am and takes kids from the team out and works with them behind his personal boat preparing them for the tournament.
Bucky also houses some of us at his home during the tournament. The last six winners of FootStock have spent the night at his home. He and his wife Candy are awesome hosts.
I asked Chris Van Zeeland to tell me the first thing that came to his head when I mentioned Bucky's name and he said " Bucky is what FootStock is all about". His wife Candy said "I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful man." Wow how many other wives of competitive skiers would say that after all the time that we are away from our significant other.
In closing, I would like to say that Bucky is a true friend and would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. If we had more people like Bucky around the world would be a better place.
