James Weber, from Patteville, Wisconsin
was selected as the

March 2006

Hey Chuck!

I'd like to nominate a bright and upcoming barefooting star for BAREFOOTER of the MONTH! James Jesse Weber is 15 years old and learned how to barefoot in 1 weekend in September of 2004, didn't get back on the water until summer of 2005 and was bound and determined to not only drop those skis again, but to compete and learn new barefooting tricks!

The Barefoot bug bit James pretty hard this last summer and he was out on the water in Crandon Wisconsin every day! First mastering dropping his slalom ski then working on and mastering deep-ups and flying docks. With Mike Seipel and Crandon's Bucky Dailey's help, by the end of the summer James was working on tumble turns and 1 foot 'footin'!

James competed in 3 tournaments this summer (including Face Plant and Footstock) and although he didn't place as he had hoped, he is very motivated to improve and compete more this summer! Not bad for a kid who doesn't live on the water! Of course, as James' mom, I might be just a LITTLE biased, but I think he's awesome! I'd love to see James selected as the Barefooter of the Month not only as an example to barefooter wannabe's....showing them what determination, motivation, and desire can lead to if you want it badly enough, but also as an honor (and thank you) to Mike and Bucky especially for all their time and teaching to give James the passion to foot!

As James said to me with a smirk on his face from behind our new Sanger..."Hey Mom! I forgot my skis!...Wait - I don't need no stinkin' skis!"

Thanks,
Jennie Weber

Congratulations James!  Keep up the hard work.  It looks like you have a great support network and some great guys to ski with.  The fastest way to advance your footing is to ski with footers that are much more experienced than you and keep doing that your entire life.  Then one day you'll wake up and you'll find yourself one of those experienced guys that everyone looks up to.
