STUART
SINGER
from Dallas, Texas
was selected as the
June 2005

Do you remember Stuart
Singer? He was the March
2003 Footer of the Month. Over two years ago, I nominated
Stuart for Footer of Month due to his determination to learn a front to
back on his feet. At the time, he had spent nearly two years
learning a front-to-back and was spending most of his time trying to
break his bad step-under habit.
Well, it's been over two
years and Stuart has been chipping away at that trick. His
frustration level has been as high as I've ever seen it with any
skier. For someone as naturally talented as Stuart, the
front-to-back had become his albatross. We were all starting
to think he would never get the monkey off his back.
I was fortunate enough to be
videoing last week. I had stopped videoing Stuart's turns months
earlier and had told him he just had to do a thousand of them and he
would eventually get the feel for it. For some reason, when I
watched him do his warm-ups on shoe-skis that morning, I had a feeling
he might just nail one that day. So I asked Michele to take out
the camera. I was right. Stuart hit a front-to-back after
spending nearly 3 years working on it.
Everyone who barefoots, or
skis for that matter, can understand the frustration a person must feel
having to wait over 3 years just to do a trick you're working on the
first time. It takes a lot of determination and dedication to keep
yourself going. After you seed the video below, I think you'll
agree that Stuart deserves yet another Footer of the Month
nomination. The excitement Stuart experienced was worth the
wait. Just click the link below to watch the video.

Congratulations my friend. You have
reached a level in footing that few people on the planet ever
experience. And most importantly, you are now
eligible to be voted the 2005 BarefootCentral.com Footer of the Year.
