Hello,

My name is Laura Dickers, and I am nominating my dad Tony Dickers for Footer of the Month because I think that my dad's determination to keep skiing at the age of 50 deserves some recognition. He suffers from sever back pain although he continues to barefoot ignoring mum, the pain he gets has now effected him so that he can't barefoot backwards. He still continues to show off his footing skills and that's why i think my dad deserves to be the next footer of the month.  He originally started waterskiing in England where he used to live, then when he moved to Australia, he began to barefoot in Sydney 'New South Wales' after watching someone else, having no clue what to do.  He tried stepping off a ski and tried backwards stepping off a ski until he was successful.  Now we live in Queensland where he coaches me every weekend. He has been competing for 5 years but has now stopped because of his back problems restricting him but he has begun marathon skiing this year and is doing really well. All together, he has been barefooting for over 20 years.

Thanks for taking the time to nominate your dad.  He sounds like a great guy.  Or do you say bloke?  Your dad is the 1st Footer of the Month for 2007, and is now eligible to be voted the 2007 Footer of the Year.  Tell him to start him campaigning now.  The competition gets tougher every year, and an Aussie has never won.
