Dear BFC:
I would like to nominate Dave Miller, “AKA” Barefoot Dave for Barefooter
of the month. When I read the description of what it takes to be
considered, I have no doubt Dave meets the
criteria. As a person interested in learning the sport I sought out to
find someone that could teach me how to ski. I emailed a local
competition being held on Maryland’s eastern shore. The director of the
tournament referred me to Dave, “he was a driver in the tournament”.
Not expecting much to come out of it,
I emailed Dave and introduced myself. To my surprise,
he invited me to come out and join him and his friends out on the
water. The rest is history, I have been skiing with Dave ever since.
He has taught me basic and reverse one foots,
backwards, and tumble turns in less than a year. His knowledge of the
sport and how to teach it is unbelievable. As I mentioned before, when
I read what it takes to be nominated as Barefooter
of the Month, I have
no doubt Dave should be considered. He is dedicated to the sport and
encourages new people to learn it. Not many people would welcome a
stranger off the streets like myself and take them under their wing. If
I haven’t said it a million times Dave, thanks
for all your help. You make barefoot nation proud!
Please
check out his website
www.barefootdave.com. He has a bunch of great pictures
and video you can add if he so fortunate to be nominated.
Thanks,
Adam McGettigan
Dear BFC:
I would like to nominate Dave Miller for footer of the month. He is an
amazing barefooter who is extremely passionate about the sport and is
ready to teach anyone who is up for the challenge. I started footing
with Dave at the end of last summer and have already learned new tricks.
Not only have I become more skilled and motivated, but I wouldn’t be
footing nearly as much if he hadn’t given me the opportunity to come
barefooting with him all summer. He is a great coach and really inspires
everyone around him to live up to their potential.
Dave is also a true barefoot fanatic. Any chance he gets he is on the
water. Even after having multiple surgeries, he is back to doing his
thing. He is really dedicated to the sport and deserves the recognition!

Congratulations
Dave! You're making an impact on people's lives. You
definitely deserve to be a BFC FOM. Keep up the good work.
You're now eligible to
be voted 2009 Footer of the Year, and being that you live so close to
Washington DC, I'm sure you know a little bit about how to campaign.
Start early and vote often!!
